Faridabad is the largest city
(according to population) in the north India state of Haryana. Faridabad, was
founded in 1607 AD by Sheikh Farid, the treasurer of Emperor Jahangir and a
Sufi saint, in order to protect the highway passing through the town. It became
the official 12th District of the State on 15th August, 1979 and has been named
after its founder. Faridabad has been described as eighth fastest growing city
in the world and third most in India (according to survey) and this
District Sub Division namely Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Palwal, Hodal and Hathin.
