HELLO GUYS WELCOME TO THE GYAN KI PATHSHALA AND TODAY WE DISCUSSED ABOUT RIVER SYSTEM OF INDIA

The rivers of India play an important role in the lives of the Indians. They provide potable water, cheap transportation, electricity, and the livelihood for a large number of people all over the country. Maximum of these take its birth from the snow and glaciers of Himalayas higher mountain ranges and perennially flows across the mountain region and after that it falls on to the plains and decreased its current and finally meat to the Bay of Bengal or Arabian Sea. Seven major rivers (Indus, Brahmaputra, Narmada, Tapi, Godavari, Krishna and Mahanadi ) along with their numerous tributaries make up the river system of India. Most of the rivers pour their waters into the Bay of Bengal. Some of the rivers whose courses take them through the western part of the country and towards the east of the state of Himachal Pradesh empty into the Arabian Sea.
